ERIC CLAPTON
BIOGRAFÍA:
Eric Patrick Clapton nació el 30 de marzo de 1945, en Inglaterra. Clapton fue criado por su abuela creyendo que era su madre hasta la edad de 9 años cuando supo que su "hermana" era en realidad su madre y que era hijo ilegítimo. Cuando Clapton tenía 15 años, estaba fascinado con el blues y con la guitarra (que fue el regalo que le hicieron en su 13 cumpleaños) y a la edad de 17, abandonó el Kingston College of Art para empezar su carrera musical en Londres.
Aunque su primera banda fue The Roosters, Clapton comenzó a tener éxito cuando se unió a The Yardbirds. Durante el periodo con los Yardbirds le apodaron "Slowhand", mote con el que todavía hoy es conocido, debido al cuidado y la templanza con la que afinaba las cuerdas de su guitarra. Después de seis meses, desilusionado con la nueva dirección musical de la banda que había abandonado el blues para meterse de lleno en el pop, Clapton abandonó, justo cuando lograron su primer gran éxito en las listas británicas.
Semanas más tarde, es invitado a unirse a los Bluesbreakers de John Mayall. Con John Mayall, Clapton se hace un nombre tanto para él como para el grupo, es durante este periodo cuando aparecen las famosas pintadas en Londres "Clapton Is God". El álbum John Mayall's Bluesbreakers With Eric Clapton muestra por primera vez el talento único de Clapton.
En 1966, deja el grupo de Mayall y se une a Jack Bruce y Ginger Baker para formar el primer supergrupo de la historia del Rock, Cream. Después de tres años de grabaciones sucesivas y conciertos multitudinarios sobre todo en Estados Unidos el grupo se separa en 1968 tras fuertes discusiones entre Jack Bruce y Ginger Baker.
En 1969 forma un nuevo grupo llamado Blind Faith con la presencia de Steve Winwood. Un álbum con las maravillosas “Can’t Find My Way Home” y “Presence Of The Lord” y una gira americana fue el bagaje musical de este gran grupo que tan solo duró un año. Ese mismo año Clapton fue invitado por John Lennon para tocar en varios conciertos con él y para grabar el single "Cold Turkey".

Cream - Goodbye (1969)
Like Wheels of Fire before it, Goodbye showcases both sides of Cream: that of a late-'60s pop band and that of an unchained blues-rock powerhouse. The live tracks on side one are highly improvised affairs, with even "I'm So Glad" receiving an extended guitar solo from Clapton. How he is able to play such laid-back and tasty blues over the relentlessly aggressive Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker is a mystery. In fact, the real superstar of these recordings is Bruce, whose upfront, distorted bass playing kicks Baker along as much as it challenges Clapton. At times it sounds more like a battle than anything else, battles that Bruce, with his tenacity and pure drive, almost always wins. The ominous neo-blues of "Politician" and the more traditional "Sitting on Top of the World" close out this extraordinary selection of live material. Side two opens with one of Cream's finest pop songs: "Badge." Co-written by George Harrison, this track features more great bass from Bruce as well as some phenomenal singing. The remaining tracks on side two, "Doing That Scrapyard Thing" and "What a Bringdown," aren't quite up to the standards of the other material, but what would a Cream album be without some throwaways? Luckily the other tracks are so strong as to raise it to the status of a must-have. A fitting way to go out, Goodbye captures all that is good about Cream, and is one of the band's proudest moments.

se autoadjudica el upload, lo peor que hasta se olvida los pass...
Chicos, hay que respetar POR LO MENOS al uploader, no te digo poner la fuente ya que
muchas veces no es la original, pero si pone el uploader CANEJO, con lo cuesta subir
cosas :S
