Portal 2 embolsa honores, Skyrim GOTY y Battlefield 3 supera a Crysis 2 en tecnologia.

Portal 2 y TESV: Skyrim fueron los ganadores de la Game Developers Choice (GDC).
El exito de Bethesda se llevo el titulo de "Juego del Año"(GOTY), mientras que Portal 2 se llevo 3 honores, el de "Mejor narrativa", "Mejor diseño" y "Mejor audio".

El año 2011 tambien vio la evolucion tecnologica con dos nuevos motores graficos, el CryEngine 3 de Crytek y el Frostbyte 2 de DICE.
Los dos fueron implementados en sus dos titulos pilares, Crysis 2 y Battlefield 3, respectivamente; ambos fueron publicados por EA pero al final Battlefield se llevo el premio a "la mejor tecnologia", pero el premio al "Mejor arte visual" se lo llevo Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception.
