Les cuento, estaba en la diyuntiva de que linux ponerle a una pc viejita que tengo para usar (y que tengo que usar), las dos opciones que se me cruzaron son Puppy linux y Damn Small Linux. Siendo que el último usa el kernel 2.4, me parece que es un problema para conectarle ciertos aparatos (no la voy a usar yo mismo, pero si personas que no entienden de computadoras mas que un chimpancé), y el tema con puppy linux es que la ultima version, 4.2.1, es mas pesada que collar de garrafas en comparacion con la 4.1.2; Por eso me incliné a investigar que tanta diferencia habia con las versiones anteriores de puppy.
En el medio del meollo, me encuentro en distrowatch con el anuncio de esta nueva version de TeenPUP, un puplet (quiere decir: basado en puppylinux) hecha especialmente para pcs viejitas, y que se ve así:
creo que me van a preguntar dos cosas:
1- Como es que le instalaste vista a ese cacharro
2- Porque lo instalaste en ingles (unico punto en contra)
y trae versiones nuevas de los programas (o las mas nuevas que se banca puppy2)
En fin, lo bajo y lo pruebo, pero parece que di justo con lo que buscaba

Yo lo probé en un celeron 466 Mhz (66Mhz de FSB) con 128 MB de ram y un disco de 4GB que funciona como ATA33 y anda, arranca mucho mejor que windows2000 y viene con tutti
Igual encontre otro que va mejor y en castellano. Se viene el post cuando haga tiempo.

una pregunta:
tengo 1 k-6 de 450mgz con 256 de ram, tiene windows xp no le pude poner lunux por que las distro que me gustaban no detectaba el mause serial. esta distro me lo detectara? y la distro andara bien. el XP me corre medio lento, y el win 98 andaba de 10 pero microsoft dejo de sacar actualizaciones para el 98.. :roll:
