John David Souther - Black Rose

John David "J. D." Souther nació en 1946 en Detroit, Michigan, EE.UU. Es country rock singer-songwriter y actor, Soulter fue el cantante y bateria de The Cinders, una banda de Rock and Roll de Amarillo, Texas, que tocaba canciones de The Beatles y Buddy Holly. En 1969 formó el grupo Longbranch Pennywhistle junto a Glenn Frey, quien alcanzó fama más tarde tocando junto a Linda Ronstadt y The Eagles. Longbranch Pennywhistle publicó un disco homónimo. Después el grupo se separó, y Souther inició una carrera en solitario grabando varios LPs incluyendo el debut "John David Souther". Publicó después "Black Rose" en 1976 y "Home By Dawn" en 1984.
