BIOGRAFIA:
Ha llovido mucho desde que en 1976, Larry Mullen pusiera una nota en el tablón de anuncios de su colegio buscando compañeros para formar un grupo punk. Se apuntaron Paul Hewson , David Evans y Adam Clayton para formar el grupo Feedback, nombre que pronto cambiarían por The Hype. A Paul empezaron a llamarlo "Bono", nombre de una tienda que se encontraba enfrente del lugar en el que ensayaban por aquel entonces. Bono, a su vez, apoda a David Evans "The Edge" (el filo) debida a la forma de su (enorme) frente. Un amigo les da el nombre de U2, como el famoso avión espía norteamericano.

En 1978, tras suspender Bono la asignatura de lengua irlandesa y no poder ingresar en la universidad, emprende con sus compañeros la primera actuación profesional del grupo (cobran 25 libras). Bono destaca como líder indiscutible y carismático de U2, y a sus 18 años compone su primera canción, "Out of control".
