Quizas los que ronden los 30 años, y a los nueve alños de edad, hayan visto alguna vez un comercial de la tarjeta de Credito Dinners Club, en este comercial fue que escuche por primera vez el tema "Summertime", era bastante raro y que daba una sensacion de tranquilidad, mostraba una playa, una pareja, y el disfrute.
Asi fue que despues de mucho tiempo pude saber que el tema era Gershwin, y este era cantado por Ella.
Ademas de una excelente cancion, que me llegaba, que te relaja, me hace acordar, hoy por hoy, a mi niñez, lo facil que veia la vida en ese momento.

Este concierto grabado en Colonia, Alemania, en 1995, es un homenaje a Mingus; y presenta al mejor vocalista que ha dado la escena jazzística mundial en nuestro tiempo junto a la WDR Big Band, encabezada por el baterista Dennis Mackrel y los ex-compañeros de Charles: Jimmy Knepper y Charles McPherson. Bireli es un guitarrista que tiene un estilo similar al de Django Reinhart y, como él, también es de familia gitana.
Surgió como una especie de joven prodigio -un mini Reinhardt- aunque luego fue mutando hacia el rock fusión y hasta grabó un disco con el inmortal Jaco Pastorius. Luego terminó regresando al straight jazz, haciendo discos centrados mayormente en bop y standards. Este es un tributo a Frank Sinatra (Blue Eyes) en el que toca standards que han sido asociados naturalmente con el cantante como "The Lady is a Tramp", "You Make Me Feel So Young" o "Come Fly with Me". Pero no solo su guitarra suena bien sino que sorprende cantando con buen tono los temas "The Lady is a Tramp", en el que hace un buen scat, "My Kind of Town", "You Make Me Feel So Young" y "Luck be a Lady", en los que se extiende cantando solo lo necesario para enfocarse más en la parte instrumental. El disco tiene mucha melodía, estupendos arreglos, está hecho con muy buen gusto y es sumamente alegre. La forma de tocar de Bireli es impecable, sutil y muy agradable; el ensamble logrado con la banda suena inmejorablemente y es excelente la calidad de grabación.
