María Ángeles Cayunao reside en la provincia argentina de Neuquen. Desde muy pequeña sintió vocación por la danza, a los cuatro años ya tomaba clases de danza española y clásica en El Chocón. Se inició a los 13 años en la danza oriental y perfeccionó su trabajo en Buenos Aires bajo la dirección del maestro Amir Thaleb. Desde entonces empezó a recorrer escenarios a lo largo y ancho del país y del mundo y actualmente, con 25 años de edad, se ha convertido en una bailarina referente de la danza árabe. Preside la Academia Integral de las Danzas del Sur, donde se dictan cursos de salsa, flamenco, contemporáneo, jazz, folklore, clásico, español y por supuesto árabe. En 2003 su academia ganó 15 medallas de oro, 15 de plata, 35 de bronce y la distinción del grupo más sobresaliente en un certamen en Córdoba; su premio como profesora fue un viaje a Egipto, Grecia, Turquía y Armenia, cunas de la danza oriental. Recientemente ha realizado una gira con otras grandes bailarinas argentinas y el maestro Mario Kirlis por Perú y Colombia, "Noches Árabes" , y en el presente mes de julio ha presentado su espectáculo Batwannis Beek con 300 bailarinas en escena y la colaboración de la profesora Corel Cayunao.
