Una compilación de las bandas de rock uruguayo que los años sesenta nos dejaron (estrictamente segragados materiales de Los Shakers, Mockers, o Bulldogs, para "ampliar la dimensión" de la escena).Solo una parte del rock de Uruguay que merece ser conocida por todos a mi entender.Cuando el "Brit" era Brit, cuando el Beat era Beat, cuando ya bandas como el Kinto y Ovni 87 abrian los horizontes mucho antes que un Santana en Woodstock...Beat, Cambombe-Beat, o Progre, el rock uruguayo fue madrugador en los años..¿quizás por ser ciudad puerto natural,Montevideo? no lo sabemos...Consistente en el exito (editado en todo el continente), pero muy a pulmón, de a pie, con mucho sacrificio,..y con un amor por la musica superlativo.

Born out of suburban frustration The Urges started out in a damp Dublin garage in late 2004. With little or no musical knowledge they set out to write nothing but raw stripped down rock 'n' roll. Since then they have enjoyed the success of their debut single '(Around & Around Again' which topped the Irish charts in the summer of 2005 and have played along side many big named bands such as The Zutons, The La's, Wild Billy Childish, Paul Weller, Ocean Colour Scene, The Buzzcocks, Babyshambles, Kulashaker and just about every major garage band since the 60's (The Electric Prunes, The Remains, The Cynics, The Pretty Things).

The A-Bones is a garage rock band from Brooklyn, New York. The band was formed in 1984 by Billy Miller and Miriam Linna, who had previously been the editors of Kicks, a pop culture journal, and the founders of Norton Records. The band, which was named after a song by The Trashmen, also featured Mike Mariconda, Mike Lewis (a founding member of both Boston's Lyres and Hoboken's Yo La Tengo), Bruce Bennett, Marcus "The Carcass" Natale, and Lars Espensen, with Miller, Linna, Bennett, Natale, and Espensen playing on the bulk of the band's recordings and for most of the band's touring life. Aside from recording three albums, two EPs, and roughly a dozen 45's, The A-Bones also performed as a backup band for acts such as Hasil Adkins, Ronnie Dawson, Cordell Jackson, The Flamin' Groovies' Roy Loney and many others. Though the band broke up in 1994, The A-Bones reunited in 2004 and continue to perform sporadic gigs in the US and in Europe, in their core line-up frequently augmented by Yo La Tengo's Ira Kaplan on keyboard.

Spacemen 3 were an English rock band who formed in 1982 and whose career spanned from the post-punk to acid house eras. This highly influential group’s minimal sound, characterised by droning guitars, softly sung/spoken vocals and sparse or monolithic drumming would be adopted by the shoegazing movement that would eventually dominate the underground. They can also be regarded as an example of post-rock and space rock. Spacemen 3 consisted of the core of Jason Pierce and Peter Kember (Pierce sometimes credited as J. Spaceman and Kember usually known as Sonic Boom), who formed the group in Rugby, Warwickshire, having met at art college. Other members of what would become a fluid lineup over the years included Pete Bain (Bassman, also of The Darkside), Natty Brooker, Sterling Roswell (Rosco), Will Carruthers and Jonny Mattock (also of Slipstream).

The Miracle Workers were a rock and roll band in the 1980s, who began as a garage rock revival band in Portland, Oregon.

The Miracle Workers were formed in January 1982 by Gerry Mohr (vocals), and Joel Barnett (bass guitar). The original guitarist and drummer, who were friends of Gerry's, but weren't interested in garage rock, left the band early on. Matt Rogers, a friend of Joel's, became the guitarist. Ron Sheridan became the drummer, though would later leave to pursue a business career. The band stabilized in 1984, with the addition of Dan Demiankow (guitar, organ), and Gene Trautmann (drums).
