Formado en el club argentinoTigre, debuto en la Primera "B" Nacional de Argentina con tan solo 15 años. Ese mismo año fue comprado por River Plate para formar parte de la reserva. Debutó en el primer equipo de River el 23 de noviembre de 2003 frente a Chacarita, bajo las órdenes del entrenador chileno Manuel Pellegrini. A principios de 2004 el nuevo técnico de River, Leonardo Astrada, lo consideró prescindible por lo cual fue traspasado a la Universidad Católica de la Primera división chilena a mediados del mismo año.
