Retrato y perfil de un gran luchador

En una vieja edición de Tiempo Nuevo -noviembre de 1986-, un pujante dirigente sindical de 31 años, lector de John William Cooke y Arturo Jauretche, se atreve a enfrentar, de visitante encima, a dos tenaces defensores mediáticos del neo laissez-faire. Germán Abdala, morocho, enfundado en una campera de cuero negra y con alguna "s" que se le escapa, trata de explicarles a Mariano Grondona y Bernardo Neustadt, muy pulcros ellos, las inconveniencias de un liberalismo salvaje en ascuas; un modelo que, de aplicarse, terminaría desactivando lo poco que quedaba de Estado benefactor, con todos los problemas sociales imaginables. Pero parece estar enfrentado a dos paredes de saco y corbata. "Mire, Abdala -le responde Grondona-, la posición suya corresponde a otra época." Resultaría enormemente democratizador poder enfrentarlos nuevamente hoy, 19 años después, luego del fracaso rotundo de aquel modelo que tuvo en Grondona y Neustadt a dos históricos apologistas y que el dirigente de ATE, muerto en julio de 1993, denunció cuando y donde había que hacerlo.
