Hatebreed / Hardcore-Metal / Info

Hatebreed se formaron en noviembre de 1994 en Bridgeport y New Haven por Jamey Jasta, Dave Russo, Larry Dwyer y Chris Beattie. Empezaron grabando una demo de tres temas con la que consiguieron hacerse hueco en los garitos. En 1996 editaron el Ep “Under The Knife” y un año más tarde, “Satisfaction Is The Death Of Desire” bajo Victory Records.

Este disco fue record de ventas de la compañía y con él la banda entró fuerte en la escena Hardcore de norteamerica, dicho éxito les llevó a girar con grupos del calibre de Slayer, Napalm Death o Entombed. En esta gira ocurrieron dos hechos trascendentales para HATEBREED. Por un lado llegaron a un público más variado, y por otro tomaron influencias de los grupos a los que acompañaron en gira y así lo demostraron en sus dos siguientes lanzamientos, “Perseverance” (2002) y especialmente en su tercer disco, “The Rise Of Brutallity” (2003). Debido al éxito de este disco, la banda salió a Europa para formar parte del Unholy Alliance Tour, junto con Slayer, Slipknot y Mastodon en 2006, luego vinieron el Download Festival y el Ozzfest, en resumidas cuentas, la banda se doctoró aquel año.

“Supremacy”, su cuarto disco editado en 2006, fue el primero de HATEBREED bajo el sello Roadrunner Records y también supuso cambios en la formación, ya que entró Frank Novinec (Ringworm, Terror, Integrity) como nuevo guitarrista.

En Septiembre de ese mismo año, el guitarrista fundador de HATEBREED, Lou “Boulder” Richards, se suicida. Pero lejos de caer en un pozo, la banda decide continuar con su carrera y son cabezas de cartel del Ozzfest 2007, un año más tarde vuelven a Europa para tocar en el prestigioso festival germano Wacken Open Air. En Febrero de 2009 su otro guitarrista, Sean Martin, abandona la banda, esta se reestructura con el fichaje de Wayne Lozinak y meses más tarde editan su quinto trabajo de estudio, “Hatebreed”
Por último The Divinity of Purpose el nuevo álbum de Connecticut hardcore / maestros de metal HATEBREED , vendió 17.000 copias en los Estados Unidos en su primera semana de lanzamiento para aterrizar en la posición 20 en el Billboard 200
