Ahab es una banda alemana de funeral doom, formada en el 2004 por los ex-guitarristas de Midnattsol Christian Hector y Daniel Droste y un por el ex-guitarrista de Endzeit Stephan Adolph. Las letras de la banda están basadas en la historia de Herman Melville Moby Dick en la que Ahab busca vengarse de la ballena blanca.

Cerca del final de 2004, con una canción ya escrita, Héctor y Christian Droste Daniel decidieron formar una banda. El bajista Esteban Adolfo pronto se unió a la alineación, y poco después, con la ayuda de Cornelio Althammer como baterista de sesión, la banda grabó su primer single, "The Stream". El 15 de abril de 2005, después de varios meses de ensayos, el primer demo de la banda, "The Oath", fue puesto en libertad. El demo fue limitado a 30 copias numeradas a mano y contenía la primera canción de la banda, "The Stream", así como dos nuevas canciones y una pista de outro.
