Fernet ( pronunciación del italiano) es un tipo de Amaro , un amargo , aromático espíritu . Fernet se hace de una serie de hierbas y especias que varían según la marca , pero por lo general incluyen la mirra , el ruibarbo , manzanilla , cardamomo , aloe y, especialmente, el azafrán , con una base de uva aguardiente , y coloreado con colorante caramelo . Ingredientes rumorea que en fernet incluyen la codeína , setas , fermentado remolacha , hojas de coca , genciana , el ruibarbo , el ajenjo , cedoaria , quina , hojas de laurel , el ajenjo , cáscara de naranja , calumba , la equinácea , la quinina , ginseng , San Hierba de Juan , el sabio , y aceite de menta .
